WELCOME

TO THE CITY OF

Coyote Flats, Texas

If Coyote Flats, Texas, were a person, they’d be the kind of individual who walks into a room with a subtle, confident stride. Independent and self-assured, they’re someone who values liberty above all, wearing freedom as naturally as their well-worn cowboy hat. Friendly yet quiet, Coyote Flats has a warm, inviting presence, a person who speaks only when there’s something meaningful to say, preferring the peace and quiet of open country to the noise of busy places.

There’s a deep-rooted Texan spirit in them—a kind of rugged hospitality mixed with a respect for tradition and nature. They’re scenic, like a favorite landscape painting, all sun-kissed fields, vast skies, and rolling hills. You might find them pausing in the middle of a conversation just to watch the sunset or listen to the wind rustling through the grass. This person carries an easy calm and prefers the company of a few good friends over a crowd.

When they smile, it’s genuine, and they take pleasure in simple things: a porch swing at dusk, the scent of wildflowers, the feel of cool, dusty earth. Country through and through, they’re peaceful yet protective of their space, embodying a sense of liberty that’s as vast as the Texas sky.

Here is where you're able to stay up to date on the latest announcements.

February 11, 2025
The City of Coyote Flats is aware of the recent announcement by Johnson County declaring a state of disaster due to contamination from per-and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), commonly known as “Forever chemicals”, found in agricultural lands. According to (JCSUD) Johnson County Special Utilities District the PFAS contamination of groundwater referenced in the declaration does not affect JCSUD customers. JCSUD sampling has not detected PFAS in the groundwater from their water well. They do encourage any residents of Johnson County who are not on a public water system and rely on private water wells for their drinking water supply to have their well water tested.
